Space North East is a Community Interest Company. This means that we must make a profit to survive and grow as an organisation, but that profit is not, and will never be, for the sole gain of private shareholders. The fundamental purpose of the organisation is to benefit the interests of the community.
While of course, we appreciate and accept donations, and they’ve been vital in helping us establish our foothold in the region, we will never ask you to fundraise or donate to us. We will, however, share existing fundraisers on our social media channels to help them reach their goals, but the initiative will never come from us. The reason for this stance, is that we appreciate times are hard for everyone here in the North East. So, we figured the right thing to do, is not to ask for money. We do appreciate though, that this is how some people do prefer to support, and as such we do accept them for this reason.
We absolutely encourage you to support us in other ways, such as sharing our social media posts, talking about us to your workplace, colleagues, and families to spread the word. You can also volunteer physically or register as an ambassador!

We’re called Space North East for a reason. The North East frequently experiences the highest rates of suicide in England and Wales. In the most recent 2024 release from the ONS & Samaritans, this trend has once again continued. This is why our long-term vision is to create free support across every city in the North East, so that any of the ~1.5 million men that live here, can access it, when they need it.
The free services we currently provide are a:
– Free, men’s support groups every Wednesday night. The lads can enjoy free teas, coffees, and biscuits here.
– Weekly walking group every Saturday morning from 9am
– TBC
If you do choose to donate to us, it’s important that you know where your donation goes. Any money that comes in, goes toward helping run Space North East’s day-to-day operations, such as general admin, volunteer expenses, paid- for services such as yoga or gym sessions, refreshments, and advertising such as leaflets, posters, and advertisement boards. At times, we may also have paid members of staff, as such, some of your donation may go towards the cost of this. We appreciate that some do not want there donations going towards salary, if this is the case, please let us know ahead of your donation and we will ensure it is protected.
Our aim as an organisation, however, is to become self-sustaining so Space North East can exist for years to come, without the need for donations or funding.
